"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." – 1 Peter 1:3 (KJV)
In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9). It is crucial for humanity to understand that the Divine One, the Creator of all, chose to suffer and humbled Himself under the anguish of the Cross. Jesus Christ, whom God sent to redeem the world, purchased the Church with His own blood. The Majesty of Heaven was left to endure the suffering at the hands of the zealots, who considered themselves the most enlightened among men.
The very people whom God had created, who depended on Him for every breath, who claimed to be the children of Abraham, became the agents of Satan’s wrath upon the innocent Son of the Eternal God. While Christ bore the heavy guilt of sin, while He carried our sins and our sorrows, He was mocked… by the chief priests and rulers. It was there, on the cross, that mercy and truth met together; righteousness and peace kissed each other. This is a truth that all must come to understand. There are depths and heights, widths and lengths that surpass all human calculation.
The character of Christ is infinitely perfect. The Scriptures declare it. He is exalted, proclaimed as the One who gave His very life for the world’s salvation. Christ gave His life so that all the unfaithful and disobedient could truly comprehend the promise given in the first chapter of John: "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name" (John 1:12, KJV). Say it and repeat it: we can become children of God, members of the royal family, children of the Heavenly King. All who accept Jesus Christ and keep their trust in Him firm until the end will be heirs of God, joint-heirs with Christ, to an inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time (1 Peter 1:4-5, KJV).
This is the blessed truth of our divine redemption.
