I will praise Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14 KJV)
We are granted but one span of existence—a single opportunity to fulfill our calling. This truth invites us to ask: How may I invest my life so that its fruit is maximized for the benefit of others and the glory of God? Our true worth is revealed when we employ our God-given talents not only to serve our fellow beings but also to prepare our hearts for the eternal promise that lies ahead.
Investing time in cultivating and preserving our physical and mental well-being is a wise and necessary commitment. It is all too easy to lose the vitality bestowed upon us, yet restoring it proves to be a far greater challenge. We must therefore guard diligently against neglect or abuse of any part of our living body—be it through overexertion or unhealthy practices. Our foremost duty is to develop every faculty granted by the Creator, refining each gift so that we may produce the greatest good possible.
Every aspect of our nature—intellectual, moral, and physical—must be honed to its fullest potential. Through the transformative grace of Christ, we gain the insight needed to recognize our weaknesses and cultivate the strengths that enrich our character. A life that is well-ordered and balanced radiates an influence far more compelling than any spoken word, serving as a living testimony to God’s marvelous design.
Moreover, it is essential to understand the profound impact that our dietary choices and lifestyle habits have on our health, character, and eternal destiny. Let our appetites be governed by our higher moral and intellectual faculties, ensuring that our bodies remain faithful servants to the spirit. In doing so, we continually echo the psalmist’s heartfelt declaration of divine craftsmanship.
