"The officers answered, Never man spake like this man." – John 7:46 (KJV)

It was said of Christ’s teaching, “And the common people heard him gladly” (Mark 12:37, KJV). Even those sent to arrest Him declared, “Never man spake like this man” (John 7:46, KJV). His words brought comfort, strength, and blessings to those who longed for the peace that only He could give. Oh, how tender and patient was Christ! How full of mercy and gentleness were His lessons to the poor, the afflicted, and the oppressed!

His illustrations were drawn from everyday life, yet they carried an incredible depth of meaning. The birds of the air, the lilies of the field, the seeds, the shepherd and his sheep—through these, Christ revealed eternal truth. And later, whenever His listeners saw these elements of nature, they would remember His words.

The words of Christ, which once brought hope and encouragement to His hearers, still speak to us today. Just as a faithful shepherd knows and cares for his sheep, so Christ watches over His children. He knows the trials and burdens each one carries. The prophet declares, “He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom” (Isaiah 40:11, KJV). Christ knows His sheep intimately, and those who suffer, the lonely and the forsaken, are under His special care.

Jesus has measured every human sorrow and carried every grief. He bears the yoke for all who are united with Him. He understands the pain that weighs upon our hearts, even those burdens too deep for words. If no earthly heart shows compassion for us, we need not feel abandoned. Christ knows. And He says, “Look unto me, and be ye saved” (Isaiah 45:22, KJV). He tenderly invites, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28, KJV). He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. The deepest and most precious compassion is found in the loving heart of our Good Shepherd.

His humanity is not lost in the majesty of His divine power. He longs to pour out His compassion and love upon those who respond to His call.
